Anglophone McGill student and Green Party of Quebec candidate Brendan Edge was denied the right to vote in the 2014 Quebec general election despite being on the baloot as a candidate. The story generated national media coverage. He had lived in Quebec for 3 years before running in the election and was legally eligible to vote.
