Congratulations to Daniel Green, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada for his campaign in Outremont where the Greens received nearly 14% of the vote! ✅
14% of the vote is almost unheard of for the Greens in Quebec! It shows that our movement is growing. People are more and more open to actions for the environment, in the same vein, the political change of direction that is needed. People are turning to the Greens in large numbers and there is no limit to what we can accomplish together over the next few years!
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the work of the GPQ candidates who, by running for provincial office, have set the stage for the victory we are celebrating tonight! I am thinking in particular of Vincent J. Carbonneau, our provincial candidate in Outremont who ran an extraordinary campaign last fall.
I would like to thank the voters of Outremont for their growing interest in green values. It is a riding that I know well and in which I ran against Premier Couillard in 2013.
We have the wind in our sails, let’s continue to work together to build the movement and a real political option that is eco-socialist, progressive and open to the world!
We are not giving up!
