On May 24, protesters from the Montreal4Palestine group staged a symbolic hanging of Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and the far-right Israeli minister Ben Gvir.
Even though the imagery is designed to be disturbing, it is important to examine the context that the mayor of Montreal and the mainstream media are selectively and strategically omitting as part of their disinformation campaign.
Ben Gvir is one of the most violent men on the planet. He is often seen wearing a pin depicting a noose. This is meant to signal his support for the hanging of Palestinian prisoners of war and hostages. He is a war criminal. He films himself abusing and threatening Palestinian prisoners in order to disseminate these images on his social media. His political party is called Jewish Power. He is a genocidal Zionist supremacist who promotes torture, murder, and the death penalty.
Zionist politicians like Poilievre and Anthony Housefather would have us believe that the effigies at the demonstration simply represented “Jews”. Not effigies of individual war criminals, but a symbol of every Jewish person. They are engaging in deliberate disinformation to advance their genocidal Zionist agenda.
“I find the hanging pin worn by Ben Gvir far more offensive than the staged event organized by Montreal4Palestine. I reiterate that this demonstration should in no way be used to roll back democratic rights, constitutional freedoms, or freedom of expression in Canada,” stated Alex Tyrrell, leader of the Green Party of Quebec.
