On May 28, protests against CANSEC, a global event on military armaments, took place in front of the doors of Ottawa’s Coher Centre.

Thirteen people were arrested for opposing the CANSEC global arms fair, as Mark Carney made a speech inside about spending more of our money on fighter jets and global warfare.

Carney talked about 3,000 jobs in the war industry that could come to Canada. If he wants to create jobs, he should do it in the energy transition, taking care of the environment, building transit infrastructure and green building retrofits.

“The war economy will lead us nowhere. This prime minister has no vision for the future. All he cares about is war, banking and big business.” declared Alex Tyrrell, leader of the Green Party of Quebec.
