Originally from West Africa and established in Quebec for several years, José Bro is a man of action, conviction, and service. A financier and banker by training, he built his career in Quebec with determination, excellence, and perseverance, eventually holding positions of responsibility in wealth management within a Quebec banking institution.
His personal story is that of many citizens: starting over, integrating, working hard, understanding the economic realities of families, facing the challenges of the cost of living, employment, housing, professional recognition, and the future of their children. This experience gives him a genuine sensitivity towards families, workers, newcomers, seniors, young people, and all those who simply want to live with dignity, security, and hope.
A man deeply involved in his community, José Bro is recognized by many as a someone who is dedicated to serving others. A trainer, speaker, and writer, and a member of the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois (Quebec Writers’ Union), he devotes a large part of his life to guiding, encouraging, training, and supporting people through their personal, social, and professional challenges. His political engagement is a natural extension of this service: listening, understanding, uniting, and advocating for concrete solutions to improve the lives of citizens.
As a Green Party of Quebec candidate José Bro has a simple vision: to make Châteauguay a fairer, greener, more humane, and more responsive riding. For him, environmentalism shouldn’t be a distant or theoretical concept. It must impact the real lives of citizens: cleaner neighbourhoods, protected green spaces, better air quality, more efficient transportation, families less burdened by the cost of living, a stronger local economy, and more transparent public decision-making.
José Bro wants to be an accessible, present, and approachable Member of Parliament. He hopes to build a bridge between the political, economic, social, and community spheres so that decisions are not made without addressing people’s everyday concerns. He believes that the citizens of Châteauguay, Mercier, Léry, Saint-Isidore, and Kahnawà should be consulted, respected, and involved more in decisions that affect their future.
His commitment is based on strong values: listening, social justice, environmental protection, human dignity, responsibility, transparency, and collaboration. He wants to champion an ecological transition that leaves no one behind, a transition capable of protecting nature while also protecting families’ finances.
José Bro also believes in the importance of supporting local businesses, farmers, community organizations, families, youth, and seniors. He wants to bring a new, constructive, and unifying voice to the National Assembly—a voice that speaks respectfully, works diligently, and always keeps citizens at the heart of its priorities.
In his free time, José enjoys reading, playing tennis, writing, helping people with their projects, and spending quality time with his family. A father, husband, and engaged citizen, he understands the importance of building a safer, healthier, and more equitable future for generations to come.
