Boris Geynet is running in Joliette to help accelerate the ecological transition and raise awareness of the urgent need to take action in response to climate change. Deeply concerned about the future of our planet, he believes that governments are not doing enough in the face of the scale of the environmental crisis. Convinced that action must be taken now, he wants to promote a vision focused on environmental protection, sustainable development, and the quality of life of communities.
Born in France and holding dual French and Canadian citizenship, Boris moved to Quebec in 2007 after accepting a job offer in his field. He chose to build his life in Quebec, where he found an environment conducive to both his professional and personal growth.
A graduate of a radiologic technology program in France, Boris went on to study biomedical engineering at the University of Technology of Compiègne. Since the beginning of his career, he has worked in training radiology professionals, putting his expertise to work in the service of innovation in healthcare.
Boris chose to settle in Joliette because of the quality of life the region offers, its affordability, and its proximity to Montreal. He particularly appreciates the region’s peaceful environment while still being close to major urban centres for his work.
For him, the Green Party of Quebec represents the strongest voice for advancing environmental issues in the National Assembly. He believes it is essential for environmental concerns to be better represented in Parliament in order to accelerate the transition toward a more sustainable society.
At the local level, Boris wants to support the development of community organizations, encourage local purchasing and the consumption of organic products, and promote better-adapted home care services for an aging population. He also believes it is important to strengthen local initiatives that help improve quality of life and build community resilience.
In his spare time, Boris enjoys running, classical singing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. These activities allow him to fully enjoy the natural environments he is committed to preserving for future generations.
