Olguine Michelle Louissaint is entering politics with the goal of putting her professional, entrepreneurial, and community experience at the service of the public. Convinced that it is not enough simply to identify problems, but that we must also take part in finding solutions, she wants to give citizens a voice and make a tangible contribution to improving their quality of life. She advocates an approach that brings together environmental protection, social justice, and economic development.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Olguine Michelle settled in Quebec in January 2012, following a journey that also took her to France and the United States. These international experiences broadened her understanding of different social and cultural realities. Ultimately, she chose Quebec as the place to establish herself permanently and continue building her personal and professional life.
Driven by a constant desire to learn and develop new skills, she holds a master’s degree in administration from UQAM, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Dominican O&M University. She has also completed several specialized training programs in management, immigration law, corporate social responsibility, and industrial relations, in addition to college-level studies in accounting and office administration.
Her professional career has allowed her to gain diverse experience in administration, accounting, and several other fields. An entrepreneur at heart, she previously owned a hair salon in the Dominican Republic. She also worked in the transportation sector there, for a company where she was responsible for the international shipping department. Today, she works as a tax auditor at Revenu Québec while developing Noubicou Entreprise, her artisanal business specializing in handcrafted jewelry and personalized decorative cushions.
Her involvement also extends to the community sector. As Vice-President of the Famille jeunesse et perspectives (FJP) Foundation, she contributes to initiatives aimed at encouraging young people to stay in school and achieve academic success. This commitment reflects her desire to give back to the community and contribute directly to the development of future generations.
For her first experience in politics, Olguine Michelle chose the Green Party of Quebec because she identifies with an approach that connects the environment, the economy, and social justice. For her, the ecological transition must be a just transition that takes into account the realities of families, workers, entrepreneurs, and the most vulnerable members of society. She also wants to bring politics closer to citizens and raise public awareness of environmental issues and practical ways to take action.
In her riding, Ms. Louissaint wants to be an accessible candidate who listens to people and remains closely connected to the community. Her background has given her firsthand knowledge of different realities related to the workplace, entrepreneurship, community involvement, and cultural diversity. She wants to listen to citizens, seek practical solutions, and help build a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous community.
In her free time, Olguine Michelle enjoys soccer, dancing, reading, and playing the guitar. She also enjoys creative activities, particularly jewelry making—a passion she has transformed into an entrepreneurial venture.
