The PVQ objects to this charter, which goes against everything that concerns human rights, freedom of expression and freedom of religious practice guaranteed by the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

According to our social justice spokesperson, "...we are, once again, trying to legislate on issues of morality and value, rather than raising awareness and educating about differences."

At PVQ we promote a vision of citizenship based on equal rights for all individuals regardless of gender, race, age, religion, social class, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, disability, wealth or health, as guaranteed by the Quebec Charter of Rights and Freedoms and as described in the World Green Charter. "We need to address the issue of Quebec values by focusing on their cultural enhancement, rather than by legislation. Values are a question of culture, of constitutional law, not a question of legal law."
