Another piece of good news!
The Quebec Liberal Party is backing off on the shale gas issue. In an interview with Radio-Canada, Phillipe Couillard argued that he « doesn’t see the point of developing » shale gas.
This is a victory for the thousands of people who have spent countless hours defending our province against this savage industry.
However, it should not be forgotten that the government still intends to fracture Anticosti Island for shale oil, and that an industry request to exploit shale gas in less populated areas will not necessarily be out of the question.
Let us celebrate this victory, but let us continue the fight. We are not giving up.
