Saturday morning we presented our bold plan for wastewater management in Quebec!
We propose:
✅ Large-scale biogasification projects across Quebec that will allow us to extract renewable energy from wastewater, following the example of Washington DC - we currently use fossil fuels to incinerate waste materials.
✅ An end to the dumping of untreated wastewater into Quebec’s waterways – about 100 municipalities continue to do so on a daily basis due to a lack of infrastructure
✅ Separation of sewer and stormwater systems to allow for more efficient management
Wastewater management and reclamation is an essential part of the energy transition and we need to invest in the future now!
