Today, I wrote to the Minister of the Environment asking him to take action to end the use of propane and other fossil fuels in Quebec.

The current propane shortage triggered by the CN strike has shown just how over-dependent we are on this fossil fuel. We should not be heating our homes, businesses and farms with fossil fuels in 2019.

In my letter, I urge the Minister to invest in readily available renewable energy solutions such as biogas, geothermal and renewable electricity. By doing so, the province would position itself as a leader in the fight against climate change, while creating thousands of jobs and ending our dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Join me in speaking out against our over-reliance on propane and other fossil fuels!

In solidarity,

Alex Tyrrell
Leader of the Green Party of Quebec
