Hailey Roop, candidate in Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques

Hailey Roop entered politics at the age of 21 to improve social services and reduce Quebec's environmental footprint through green policies. By studying environmental studies at CEGEP Dawson, she was able to demonstrate her academic and activist commitment. Then, through an internship at Global Green News, she became involved in environmental activism and familiarized herself with Quebec political issues. She then went on to study at McGill University to deepen her knowledge of economics and the environment, a degree she is now in the process of obtaining. Through her studies at McGill, she also campaigned for her university's divestment from fossil fuels.

A convinced eco-socialist, Hailey wants to put in place policies that enable ordinary citizens to own their own homes, while protecting the environment through free public transport and improving the quality of healthcare in Quebec. As a candidate in the Sainte-Marie Saint-Jacques borough, she wants to create far-reaching changes in waste management and adopt a better waste recycling service to reduce everyone's environmental footprint, as well as reducing the use of single-use plastics.

In her spare time, Hailey enjoys environmental activism and cycling to discover Quebec. For Ms. Roop, every vote cast on behalf of the Green Party of Quebec demonstrates that our ideas resonate with the population, help us to take our place in the public debate and contribute to the funding of the Green Party through the per-vote subsidy. For all these reasons (and more), Hailey Roop would be honoured to count on your support in the 2022 Quebec general election. Every vote counts!
