Jean-Pierre Duford in agriculture and forestry

Jean-Pierre Duford represented the Green Party of Québec for the second time in the 2022 election in the riding of Saint-Henri-Saint-Anne. He was also the PVQ candidate for the same riding in the 2023 by-election. Jean-Pierre is a gardener by profession, having completed his D.E.P. in horticulture at École Louis-Riel. He has worked for the City of Montreal as a gardener, mainly in parks and at the Botanical Garden, for several years. He is also involved in environmental advocacy, being an active member of the community group "Sauvons la falaise!", which campaigns for the protection of the Falaise St-Jacques eco-territory in Montreal. He is also a committed activist for Demain Sud-Ouest, a citizens' group dedicated to advancing the ecological transition in Montreal's Sud-Ouest region.

Jean-Pierre's political and ecological convictions led him to become involved with the Green Party of Quebec, as he believes the party reflects his values. As spokesperson for agriculture and forestry, Jena-Pierre wishes to protect and improve urban green spaces to bring citizens closer to nature and increase biodiversity, build new affordable housing for families, promote urban agriculture in Quebec and offer greater accessibility to Quebec-produced organic products; he wants to contribute to Quebec's ecological transition and social justice.

In addition to his political and environmental commitments, Jean-Pierre enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming at the beach, barbecues with friends and, of course, gardening.
