Today I would like to highlight my opposition to hydraulic fracturing technology. As you know, this technology is not limited to shale gas; it is also used on shale oil and coalbed methane operations, among others.
Although the Quebec government claims to have stopped hydraulic fracturing for the time being with a temporary moratorium on shale gas; they are in the process of fracturing the entire Anticosti Island, which contains shale oil, and which is not included in the strategic environmental study.
I am resolutely against any use of hydraulic fracturing and we have a duty to stop this technology in its tracks!
