Very interesting lecture by Leila Bedeir on Islamic feminism.
The voices of Muslim women should be brought forward in the current debate on the charter. The image and identity of Muslim women is systematically marginalized by the current government and the mainstream media.
How is it that the Parti Québécois is trying to move forward with a bill without listening to the groups they claim they want to serve with a charter that will only marginalize and stigmatize them further?
According to Mary Ann Davis of the MUHC union, one-third of the unionized employees under the MUHC-CSN could lose their jobs if the charter is passed.
No to the charter, no to the politics of division, no to prejudice, and let’s stop institutionalizing discrimination against religious minorities in Quebec.
Together against the charter,
