Last night the Green Party of Québec made the CBC national news to talk about our petition calling for a ban on microplastic beads in personal hygiene products.
New research from McGill released earlier this week slows that extensive microplastic pollution is present on the bottom Saint-Laurence river. Experts say the beads may be present in the food chain and are pursuing further research.
We are one of the first groups in Canada to call for a ban on microplastics in personal hygiene products. The companies and governments have all the tools they required to take action on this issue at minimal cost.
