Howie Hawkins, Green Party candidate for Governor of New York has been running an excellent campaign leading up to the US elections this week.
His progressive campaign has focused on the need to end racial segregation, eliminate poverty, ban franking in New York and restore funding to public schools and services.
The Green Party of New York State has also put forward a bold plan to transition to 100% clean energy by 2030.
Howie is a self defined socialist, and has been active on the peace, justice, labour and environment fronts since 1967. The Green Party of New York’s platform is remarkably similar to the eco-socialist position recently taken by the Green Party of Québec.
Howie Hawkins for NY Governor has run for office over 20 times in his career. The poles are showing that he may be able to increase his support ten fold in this election!
