he good news is that on Tuesday evening, the states of Oregon, Alaska and the District of Columbia voted in a popular referendum to legalize cannabis.
They join Colorado and Washington, D.C., where the consumption, production, and sale of cannabis has been legal for more than a year.
If the United States agrees that its “war on drugs” has not been productive, the time has come for Canada to follow suit and make cannabis legal across the country.
Until the federal government acts, Quebec should stop allocating our police resources to the fight against cannabis, which is losing legitimacy.
Now, it is only a matter of time before cannabis is legal across North America.
