Excellent demonstration today against Bill C-51!
We are proud to have taken to the streets to defend our fundamental rights and freedoms as we did to denounce Bill P6.
This bill, proposed by an elected government using election fraud tactics, is designed to attack, marginalize and silence citizens who care about the future of our planet.
Municipal, provincial and federal governments are systematically participating in this campaign to deny us our rights. Whether it is arbitrary mass arrests by the Coderre administration, provincial politicians attacking our public services and our freedom of religion, or espionage by the federal government, ALL of these actions point in the same direction.
All of these actions seek to silence us, take away our rights and make us conform to the government agenda.
We have a Prime Minister who is trying to change Canada’s identity. He seeks to continue the extraction of natural resources at the expense of indigenous peoples and the environment. He seeks to wage war internationally and take away our pacifism and our identity.
If this bill passes, our freedom of expression, our freedom of peaceful assembly and our right to dissent will be taken away.
Now is not the time to try to compromise.
Justin Trudeau is trying to play all his cards at once. He talks about environmental protection but has not hesitated to support the Keystone and East Energy pipelines. He talks about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms but supports bills that are designed primarily to oppress us.
The message in all of this is simple – Mr. Trudeau has become the second head of the Conservative machine!
