Wow. Who would have thought that out of 2400 Montréal firefighters only 9 are black.
Clearly, there is allot of work to be done in terms of breaking down racial barriers both within the fire service and in the City of Montréal’s hiring practices.
There are also very few women who work as fire fighters. It’s time for a change.
Of roughly 2,400 active firefighters now working for the City of Montreal, only nine are black.
