Very pleased to have received confirmation that the Minister of the Environment, Isabelle Melançon, will mandate BAPE to study the construction of new process water and sedimentation basins at the Mont-Wright mine in Fermont.
If the project goes ahead, it could cost us « the destruction of 11 lakes, 15 ponds and 25 streams, causing a loss of fish habitat over an area of 104 ha and the encroachment of 205.9 ha of wetlands, » according to documents filed with the BAPE.
