Today I was in Montreal East with Valérie Fortier to announce some policies of the Green Party of Quebec regarding the fight against the oil industry.
We propose:
- A carbon tax of $200 per ton of CO2 ($0.46 per liter of gasoline)
- Free public transit and several strong projects
- Replacing fossil fuels in the heating sector with electricity
- A moratorium on all new petroleum infrastructure in Quebec (pipelines, drilling, rafting, etc.).
- Inclusion of the right to a healthy environment in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- Massive investments in the deployment of renewable energies
- The fight against the oil industry is the fight of our generation. Let’s take action now! ✊
