I am deeply inspired by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who made history last night as the youngest woman to ever be elected to the US Congress at just 29 years old.
One year before the election she was working in a restaurant. Now she is on the forefront of progressive politics with a strong mandate to fight a political and economic system that is failing working people, minority groups, the environment and future generations.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez policies are very similar to what the Green Party of Québec is fighting for. Her victory against the system shows that everything is possible. Any goal that we work towards is within reach and that citizen involvement in the democratic process is more important than ever.
Congratulations to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her team for this win. Progressives, let’s keep up the fight!
