« Long-time environmental and social justice activist Howard Breen has been on hunger strike for 21 days to save old growth forests in British Columbia.
Howard has been arrested more than 37 times while fighting for the environment, peace, indigenous rights and social justice. After his last arrest fighting for the Wet’suwet’en, he was put in solitary confinement for 8 days in a maximum security prison; all without being convicted of a crime.
Howard says he wants to stop drinking fluids on earth day. In our conversation, I urged him not to push things to the limit and noted that we need him to continue to work on the front lines in the weeks, months and years ahead
