Alex Tyrrell, a candidate for the leadership of the Green Party of Canada is seeking communications interns to assist with the creation and publishing of various content on social media platforms as well as managing and updating the campaign’s website.
At age 31 and with over six years’ experience as a leader of the Green Party Quebec he is campaigning to succeed Elizabeth May as leader of the Green Party of Canada on a left-wing eco-socialist platform that aims to shake up Canadian politics with new energy and new ideas. In these early days his campaign has already generated considerable national media coverage and Alex is rapidly building support across Canada.
Task Description
- Collaborate on the creation of political texts and declarations
- Publish content on social media and website
- Write press releases, revise texts and translate (if possible)
- Assist in outreach operations across Canada
Duration
Internships typically consist of 20h of work per week over a 4-month period. However, alternate arrangements can be made for individuals who would like to be involved for the duration of the campaign which will conclude on October 4, 2020.
About You
- Experienced or trained in political communications
- Interested in politics or activism
- Enthusiastic about progressive campaigns
Location
Our home base in Montreal but it is possible to work from home and people from across Canada are encouraged to apply. Alex Tyrrell will be travelling the country through the campaign.
This Is a Volunteer Internship
We are running a grassroots campaign with limited resources positions are unpaid but the experience will be unforgettable and letters of recommendation will be provided to people who complete the internship. Interns will also be given priority standing for job applications if paid positions become available in the future.
